Darío Verdugo founded the management advisory firm Value Creation Initiatives, LLC (“VCI”) in 2006. With deep expertise in both strategy and hands-on transaction execution, VCI transcends the conventional categories of consulting. He advocates creating economic value through sound strategy and business practices applied to the “Extended Enterprise” (Focusing beyond the internal aspects of the Company).
He retired from DaimlerChrysler in 2006 after a successful automotive career with responsibilities spanning diverse areas domestically and internationally. At his last position he was the senior executive for Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) for DaimlerChrysler Corp. He also held senior management positions at Ford Motor Co and, Chrysler Corp. In these companies played senior roles in the areas of corporate finance, funding, corporate strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). His experience has included North America, Far East (Korea, Japan, and China), Europe (Germany), Middle East (Turkey), and South America (Brazil and Argentina) – where he established manufacturing and marketing presence. He also established a marketing subsidiary for Chile.
Darío has been a big proponent of Knowledge Management in the M&A area – Key note speaker in Knowledge forums in France, The Netherlands and Switzerland, and co-author of a book in Knowledge Management for Banking published in Germany (“Management der Ressource Wissen in Banken”).
Darío, received his Economics’ degree and CPA from the University of Chile (Ingeniero Comercial), MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, and sabbatical at the University of Cambridge (Wolfson College), England as a visiting fellow.
